Hi! My name is Brooke and I love to cook. In fact, I am passionate about eating for pleasure and nutrition. If you love delicious meals, we are going to get along fabulously!

I’m so excited to share with you More Than Good Food! I wanted to take just a few minutes to introduce myself and explain the intent of this podcast and what you can expect.

The goal of this podcast is to have honest conversations with women who are experts in their field, and those who have lived experience that they want to share, about what it means to live a healthy life in a busy world. More importantly, I want to get into things we would be embarrassed to talk about at a restaurant but that you might hear friends discussing at the kitchen table.

I’ll be writing up show notes with links to different resources. It will also serve as a place to thank our advertisers and supporters who generously provide opportunities to help offset the costs. Showcasing the hard work of my guests is important to me. My promise to you is that I won’t post anything that I don’t personally recommend and use myself.

If you have a suggestion for an upcoming show or would like to be a guest on the show, I would love to hear from you. Send me a DM on Instagram!

Season One

The goal of Season One is to have those honest conversations with women who are experts in their field, and those who have lived experience that they want to share, about what it means to live a healthy life in a busy world. I get into topics we might be embarrassed to talk about at a restaurant but that you would hear friends discussing at the kitchen table.

Because it’s a conversation, episodes don’t have a specific length but none of them are longer than an hour.

I hope you will join me for a conversation with my favourite cookbook author, Julie Daniluk… and remember that living a healthy life is about About More Than Good Food.

Season Two

I am meeting more and more folks who are struggling with the stress of working from home. Somehow we slipped into back-to-back meetings on videoconference, growing to do lists with not enough time to get to the work done because we’re in so many meetings, plus the added stress of educating little ones, restricted gatherings and shopping, and the intense fear of contracting a variant.

Joining me for Season Two is fellow podcaster Meaghan Jackson, host of Joyful Mud Puddles. She has taken her passion for bringing peaceful calm to family life, and pairs that with her background in education, to help parents become more confident and well equipped.

Together, we’ll be exploring practical and meaningful strategies to help stay focussed and avoid burn out. Come take a listen to the kick off episode.

Stay tuned for a special episode for everyone with fur babies as well!

A bit about me

I have a full time role as a Development Banker, where I am a connecter to people and programs to help Canadian women grow and scale their business. You can find me on LinkedIn »

Throughout my career I’ve had a wide range of experiences: as a manager and advisor for large organizations and start ups leading strategic planning and effecting change; as co-owner of a growing business; as a consultant and development banker supporting entrepreneurs; and as a Faculty member in Engineering.

Now, I combine my problem solving background with years of professional development invested in organizational behaviour, communication and human health to focus on what matters most to my clients – developing a clear plan of action to meet their personal and professional goals without sacrificing their health.

I founded a social enterprise where I work primarily with folks in financial & insurance, professional services and consulting. I use an interdisciplinary coaching methodology to help them grow their practice with enthusiasm and from a foundation of health. Find out more at www.brookegordon.ca »
